Jewellery (e) motion.
The concept of kinetic jewellery has a central place in my work. By adding the element of movement to the pieces, my aim is to create a game, a meaningful interaction, between bearer and object. Motion as an interaction and movement as an onset to creativity between bearer, spectator and jewel/object were the inducement to create several jewellery sets. The protagonist bearer, spectator and environment define most of the outer view of the jewellery pieces. The spectator is invited to perform an active role in these works and in their working. These aspects of my work allow for an intimate bond to grow and to persist between spectator, bearer and jewel. It is a concept I call “jewellery (e) motion”.
“My work has less to do with the need to make something decorative and much more to do with the fun of playing , of working the way I choose; it is about inventiveness and creativity” (Friedrich Becker)
